Donna Tartt is one of modern literature’s most lauded writers. She is the author of the international bestsellers The Secret History and The Little Friend. The Goldfinch is only Donna Tartt’s third novel in 20 years.
Of The Little Friend Boyd Tonkin, in The Independent, wrote: "Tartt’s followers will crave a second dose of the brooding atmospherics, high-voltage suspense and stately retro-rhetoric of her debut. The Little Friend delivers that, and more. In a literary age of diet and dearth, Tartt invites us to feast".
The Goldfinch is her long-awaited new book. A sweeping story of loss and obsession, of survival and self-invention, of the deepest mysteries of love, identity and fate, it is utterly captivating and addictive.
Donna Tartt's first novel, The Secret History, has sold more than five million copies and has been translated into more than 20 languages. Tartt's second novel, The Little Friend, was shortlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction.
