C1. Michael Morpurgo £6/£4

A rare opportunity to hear Children’s Laureate, Michael Morpurgo. Michael will be reading from his brand new novel, The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips, and his highly acclaimed Private Peaceful. Exploring life from the cradle to the grave, with his warm, closely observed prose, Michael Morpurgo promises an event for children and adults to treasure.

C2. Fairy Dreams: A Magical Journey to Fairy Land with Gwyneth Rees Age 6-9

A delightful event for young children from the author of Fairy Dust and Fairy Treasure.

C3. Marcus Sedgwick Age 9-13

Marcus will be talking about his most recent novels, The Book of Dead Days and the Dark Flight Down, the sources of inspiration behind them, including trips to Krakow and the Paris catacombs. He will also show how a book evolves from first ideas to the finished copies.

Come and meet the children’s laureate and writer of Kensuke’s Kingdom and the author of the children’s classic - Tom’s Midnight Garden.

C4. Cat Weatherill Age 7+

Storyteller Cat Weatherhill introduces her first novel Barkbelly. Follow the fortunes of a wooden boy, Barkbelly, as he makes a dark and dangerous journey to the other side of the world and back. An unmissable performance.

C5. Football Fantasy Ages 9 -13

A brilliant new series of gamebooks that put YOU right on the pitch. Choose your tactics, tackle, dribble, pass, shoot – you’re in control with the only interactive sports series in the world! C7. Philippa Pearce £6/£4

A wonderful wake-up to Sunday morning with this rare opportunity to listen to a much loved childrens’ author who has delighted generations of children with her magical evocations of childhood. Philippa Pearce reads from her latest work, The Little Gentleman and talks about being a writer. With an introduction by Gillian Beer, Professor of English Literature at Cambridge University and former Chair of the Booker Prize Committee, this event brings together two of the grand dames of English literature.

C8. Cambridge Storytellers present Anansi the Spider £3.50

Marion Leeper tells stories for children about Anansi the Spider. An event to enthral and delight as these classic tales are traditionally and captivatingly told. Mainly for children under 8 but all welcome. All proceeds go to Oxfam.
